Frequently asked questions

All of your documents are stored and processed on servers located in Montreal, Quebec. They don't move around between regions or countries, and they stay under Canadian jurisdiction from creation to deletion.
You do. Always. cDox does not claim ownership over your writing, drafts, or published documents. What you create remains yours, and you're free to export or delete it at any time.
No. Your content is never used to train AI systems, machine learning models, or analytics engines. We don't repurpose your writing for anything beyond providing the service you're using.
Sorry. cDox is focused on writing and documents, not general file backup or storage. You can organize documents you write in cDox, but it's not designed for storing photos, videos, and other files.
Yes. You can export your documents at any time as Markdown, PDF, Microsoft Word, or plain text, so your writing is never locked into cDox and can move wherever you need it to go.
No. By design. We believe de-big-teching starts with the open web, not more platform lock-in. That said, there are a few simple ways to make cDox feel native on any device.
Of course. You don't need to be Canadian to use cDox. Anyone can sign up and write here. The difference is where your data lives. All documents are stored in Canada and governed by Canadian and Quebec law, no matter where you're located.
We're just getting started. Each user is capped at 50MB of storage, and we hope that's enough room to get you going. We do plan to introduce paid subscriptions down the road.
